Sleeping with the Fishes

Come to the Aquarium of the Bay and learn about the biodiversity in the San Francisco Bay. Sleep in the underwater tunnels with the different animals of the Bay. Be able to fulfill requirements for the Nova Award.

Information

Date: February 4 to February 5
Time: 7:30 P.M. to 8:30 A.M.
Age Requirements: Tigers to AOL (6 and Up)

Program Schedule

 Evening: 
 7:30-8:00pm: Check in, Introductions and name game 
 8:00-10:45pm: Tour of Aquarium, snack, sleepover program activities specific to the group 
 10:45-11:30pm: Prepare for bed 
 11:30-12:00am: Lights out, and sleep under crystal clear tunnels surrounded by sharks, eels, octopus and thousands of other marine animals!

Morning: 
 7:00am: Rise and shine! 
 7:20am: Continental style breakfast and morning activities 
 8:30am: Good-byes 

Group Size Limits: minimum 25 / maximum 45.

Adult/Child Ratios: 1 adult chaperone is required for every 5 scouts.

Cost: $75/person. Make checks payable to Timothy Hom.
Arrival
Arrival time is between 7:15 and 7:30pm. The Naturalists lead an entertaining and informative program, which requires uninterrupted preparation time. Please be considerate of their efforts and arrive no earlier than 7:15pm.

Please consider the traffic and the many tourists who visit San Francisco and the Fisherman’s Wharf area. If you happen to arrive early, there are several other attractions on PIER 39 to visit before coming to the Aquarium.

Enter through the Main Aquarium Entrance
(Located at the top of the front stair case, an elevator is available to the left of the stairs):
Aquarium of the Bay is located to the right and behind the Hard Rock Café on Pier 39. As you walk toward the aquarium, the front stairs will be in front of you. If you need an elevator, it is located to the left and behind these front stairs. Group check-in, activities, and where your group will be sleeping takes place completely in the aquarium.

What to Bring:

4. Water bottle

What is Recommended:
1. Sleeping Pad
2. Pillow
3. Change of Clothes

1. Flashlight
2. Food and Drink
3. Electronic Game Devices
4. Games
5. Inflatable mattresses


Scouts are encourage to wear Field Uniforms (Class A Uniforms).
