Pack 110 participated in the Memorial Day Flag Placement event at Oak Hill Memorial Park in San Jose on Saturday morning. It was a great way for our boys to honor our fallen heroes this Memorial Day weekend.
What an amazing experience it was to camp together (all 100+ of us!) at Ed Levin this past weekend! Honorable mentions (from Kenton's message): 1) The Master Head Chefs: Chao and Judy - The food was great, the execution was per plan, and everyone was full. Dinner service was on schedule. I think Chao would do great on Chef Gordon Ramsay Hells Kitchen. 2) Our Cub Master and Outdoor Activity Chair: Mark Anderson - He planned the whole program!!! He reserved the campsite, did a site inspection with Jim, wrote the script (including the Order of the Arrow 4 wind / AOL / bridging ceremony), and made all the props (did you notice the color flamed torches). His program educated the scouts on patriotism (retiring of the flag and Robert Baden-Powel 1st campfire ashes), to respect our veterans, and to remember the individuals who have fought for our country to give us our freedom! In addition, he planned and prepped with Jim, the Mountain man breakfast and guided / advised the Webelos in cooking our wonderful breakfast. Mark alway creates new experiences for the scout to learn new things. Also, Mark brought all of the kitchen equipment. 3) Troop 110! More photos to follow! Parents--please contribute to this photoblog (look on the right column on how). Dedication of campfire program to Phil Cullen 3/14/1962 - 5/2/2015Pack 110 dedicates the campfire program to Phil Cullen. America has lost a true patriot this year. A craftsman of many disciplines. He lived as though everything was a miracle. Especially his family and friends. "There are only two ways to live your life. One is though nothing is a miracle.
The other is as though everything is a miracle". - Albert Einstein - |
